Villasukat raitalangasta – 5+1 vinkkiä onnistuneisiin sukkiin!

Kaivoin kaapistani esille raidallista Seiskaveikkaa, ja aloin neulomaan siitä Vellamo -sukkia. Neuloessani pohdiskelin samalla keinoja, miten itseraidoittuvista langoista neulotut villasukat saa takuuvarmasti onnistumaan, ja ajattelin jakaa nämä vinkit myös teille!

1. Tutustu lankaan ennen kuin ryhdyt neulomaan

Lankakerässä saattaa tulla vastaan solmuja, jotka katkaisevat väriraportin, tai muita ikävyyksiä. Niihin kannattaa varautua etukäteen tutustumalla lankaan; keri lankakerä ennen neulomista uudelleen kerälle, jolloin pystyt havaitsemaan solmut.

Yhteen naisten koon villasukkaan kuluu yleensä n. 55 grammaa lankaa. Jos kerässä on solmuja, yritä löytää siitä kaksi vähintään tämän mittaista yhtenäistä, solmutonta pätkää. Jos sinulla on käytössäsi kaksi eri kerää, ja aiot tehdä yhden sukan yhdestä kerästä ja toisen toisesta, muista varmistaa, että langat ovat keskenään samaa värjäyserää! Värjäyserän koodin löydät lankakerän vyötteestä, useimmiten läheltä viivakoodia.

2. Aloita kumpikin sukka samasta kohdasta langan väriraporttia

Itseraidoittuvissa langoissa on niin sanottu väriraportti, joka toistuu langassa uudelleen ja uudelleen. Joissain langoissa väriraportti saattaa olla hyvinkin pitkä, toisissa puolestaan lyhyempi.

Jos haluat saada raidat täsmäämään, kannattaa nähdä hetki vaivaa, ja etsiä toiseen sukkaan langasta sama aloituskohta, kuin toiseenkin. Itse aloitan silmukoiden luonnin aina väripätkän puolivälistä. Olen pitänyt tätä tapaa miellyttävämmän näköisenä, kuin luomisen aloittamista langan värinvaihtokohdasta, sillä tällöin luomiskerroksen silmukoissa on vain yhdenväristä lankaa. Vaikka et haluaisikaan aloittaa kumpaakin sukkaa samalla värillä, silmukoiden luominen kannattaa silti aloittaa samasta kohdasta raitaa.

3. Neulo molemmat sukat samanaikaisesti

Neulojan käsiala ja neulepinnan kireys vaihtelee ajan kuluessa, ja tämä vaikuttaa siihen, kuinka monta silmukkaa saat tehtyä yhdestä raitalangan väripätkästä. Kun neulot kummatkin sukat samanaikaisesti, tapahtuvat mahdolliset käsialan vaihtelut kummassakin sukassa samaan aikaan.

Kätevä tapa kahden (tai jopa useammankin) sukan neulomiseen samanaikaisesti on pyöröpuikoilla neulottava Magic Loop -tekniikka. 4. Tee kantapää sukkaan jälkikäteen

Usein kantapään neulominen sukkaan katkaisee langan väriraportin nilkan kohdalla. Jos et halua näin tapahtuvan, voit neuloa sukkaan kantapään vasta jälkikäteen. Tällöin neulot kantapään kohdalle tulevat silmukat apulangalle, ja jatkat sukan jalkaterän neulomista. Kun jalkaterä ja kärkikavennukset ovat valmiit, poimit apulangalla olevat silmukat, ja neulot niillä kärkikavennusten tavoin tehtävän kantapään. 5. Vältä pystysuuntaisia pitsejä ja palmikoita

Raitalankojen raidat ovat vaakasuuntaisia, joten useimmiten ne rikkovat pystysuuntaiset pitsi- ja palmikkoneulekuviot. Tämän seurauksena kovalla vaivalla tehty neulepinta katoaa langan raitojen sekaan.

Jos haluat kuitenkin neuloa raitalangoista jotain muutakin, kuin perussukkia, kannattaa kokeilla malleja, joissa pitsikuvio aaltoilee vaakasuuntaisesti. Tällaisia ovat esimerkiksi Vellamo, Polvekeraitasukat sekä Olga.

Raitalangat näyttävät upeilta myös kirjoneuleissa yksivärisen langan seurana, ja kahta tai useampaa raitalankaa raidoittamalla saat aikaan kotoisan näköiset räsymattosukat!

Käsityön jälki saa näkyä käsityössä, ja suurimmassa osassa raitalankoja väripätkien pituuksissa on pieniä eroja, vaikka raita olisikin tasaraidoiksi raidoittuvaa. Maailma ei tosiaankaan kaadu siihen, että villasukkien kärkiin osuukin eri värinen osuus langasta.

Jos tämä kuitenkin häiritsee visuaalista silmääsi, kannattaa kokeilla esimerkiksi Regia Pairfect -sukkalankaa, josta ainakin luvataan tulevan kaksi keskenään identtistä sukkaa. Langanpäiden päättelyä kammoamattoman vaihtoehto puolestaan on raidoittaa sukkansa itse yksivärisistä langoista.
